FEBRUARY 17--This country, as you know, is filled with the deranged. And then there's Travis Frey, a 33-year-old Iowa man who is facing charges that he tried to kidnap his own wife (not to mention a separate child pornography rap). Frey, prosecutors contend, apparently is a rather demanding guy. In fact, he actually drew up a bizarre four-page marriage document--a "Contract of Wifely Expectations"--that sought to establish guidelines for his spouse in terms of hygiene, clothing, and sexual activities. In return for fulfilling certain requirements, Frey (pictured right) offered "Good Behavior Days," or GBDs. Each GBD, Frey wrote, could be redeemed by his wife to "get out of doing the things" he requested daily. A copy of the proposed contract, which Frey's wife never signed and later provided to cops, can be found below. While we normally point out the highlights of most documents, there are so many in this demented, and very graphic, contract, we really can't do it justice. So set aside ten minutes--and prepare to be repulsed. (4 pages)

I mean, he obviously put a lot of thought and effort into chosing a special font, particularly for the headers. I can't really see, but are they pornographic?

The whole shebang was such poor res that I couldn't exactly make it out, but those uppercase letters look sorta like kama-sutra type illustrations. Can't tell for sure, though.

I can't believe any self-respecting woman would consider marrying or staying with the kind of guy who did stuff like this. And what about the kids?! Imagine what their life must be like! He allows his wife less autonomy than most people allow the average 5 year old (at least some 5 year olds get to pick out their own clothes) - so imagine what he does to the kids!

If my husband ever presented me with anything like this, he'd better let on that it's a joke before I get finished reading the 1st page. Because that's about how long it would take me to get my friend the divorce lawyer on the phone. I'm not kidding. I would never put up with this for half a second, much less months or years.

Seriously, this is beyond sick. I can't even imagine what must be wrong with a person to actually desire to control another person in this way. This guy doesn't want a wife, he wants a slave.
