Losing a grandparent is tough. I lost my grandfather almost 2 years ago. We sometimes forget how long they lived before we were born. In your grandfather's case, 101 years is a long time to live. Without advances in that realm of science, one cannot hope for too many years beyind that.

56. He had the chance to see the best and worst of mankind
the answers and questions, and the problems and solutions in nearly 5 generations from his. I hope is passing was peaceful, and I hope you never forget him. Having had the opportunity to know someone that old and to have talked to them is a gift unto itself.

11 kids. Wow, an amazing capacity in itself and to still have left the impression he did on you. I am envious. :toast:

My maternal grandfather died at 98 years old, I knew it was coming and it was no suprise when he passed. I still teared up like a baby when I carried his body to the hearse.
There is no person born who will not die. Your sadness at his passing is his gift to you. He made a difference in your life.
My thoughts are with your grandfather as he moves to the other side of this life.

62. Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
(Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!)

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am the song that will never end.
I am the love of family and friend.
I am the child who has come to rest
In the arms of the Father who knows him best.

When you see the sunset fair,
I am the scented evening air.
I am the joy of a task well done.
I am the glow of the setting sun.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

(With deepest sympathy)
goodboy and goodgirl
