Poll question: Baseball...best division 2006 season
Looks to me like the AL Central, closely followed by the AL East are tops...what do you think?

1. I voted for the NL East
Because I think, as in the recent past, there will be a close race between many of the teams. Of course, the Braves will pull away in the end, only to lose once again in the playoffs.

Go Red Sox!

3. c'mon the Mets have a shot this year to win the NL east
in the off-season we added Carlos Delgado and one of the best closers in baseball, Billy Wagner!

2. I say the AL East will be a good race this year
beacause the Yank Mes are the Yank Mes, and the Red Sox and Blue Jays have definatly improved themselves. Good three team race.

5. West coast pretty much sucks, at least the NL
but then, what do you expect with both the Diamondbacks and the Rockies in the same division?

Cards are going to make a run for it again and stand a decent chance, I think. They're consistent. I hope they don't lock it up as early as they did last year, though. I like to see more of a race when September rolls around.

Mets are serious about getting a shot but they're buying it. Seems like that's the way it's done anymore. Yankees have set a lousy precedent -- I miss team loyalty. Pennants shouldn't go to the highest bidder. They should be worked for and played for and earned.

But that's just me.

6. Hey! Careful there about the Dbacks!
That's my team. ;-)
This year should be better for them than last year but I still don't expect them to contend until next year when they bring up some of the young players in the minors... guys like Stephen Drew and Chris Young.

8. Even then
it's going to take a while. And with the way players move around, who knows anymore? They come up through the system with one team and then, right before they're ready, they get traded for some marquee name that doesn't produce in the end.

I hope the D-backs do well this year. But then again, I'm a Cubs fan at heart, so what do I know?

10. HA! Finally, the AL Central ISN'T a joke.
When the Twins won 3 straight AL Central titles in a row, it was always because the Al Central was a "weak division". And, granted, it was. But now it's a powerhouse. Nice to see.
