covers that you can't decide which is better
covered songs that you can't decide which is better - the original or the cover.

for me -

the first cut is the deepest cat stevens/rod stewart

all along the watchtower bob dylan/jimi hendrix

i remain torn trying to decide...

what originals/covers cause you conflict?

1. Across the Universe....
So many people have done that song just as well if not better than the Beatles... I always felt that was kind of a knock off song for the Fab Four...

Rufus Wrainright does a haunting version as do the Smiths

6. "How Soon is Now"
The original is by The Smiths, and the remake by Love Spit Love. Both are excellent, and have qualities the other doesn't. I just can't find a way to like one better than the other.

7. "Losing My Religion."
Tori Amos or R.E.M. I still can't choose. I've noticed on thing, though; Tori fans don't always love the "Losing My Religion" cover, but R.E.M. fans almost universally HATE it. Even those who don't think "Losing My Religion" is the best song ever.
