Does anyone else's spouse/partner talk to themselves?
Mine does incessantly, and half the time I do not know whether he is talking to me, the TV, or himself!

:silly:

That is honest!

I sometimes cannot hear people over the "committee in my head".

Hopefully she remembers that sooner or later so I'm not written off as an asshole. I'll make it bigger.

7. I caught it
but I really do hate the grammar policing that goes on here. I am dyslexic and really struggle to spell things correctly.

14. As an engineer in training in college, I must interject.

I think that hair has been split enough. If we attempt to split it one more time, it may not maintain it's strength. It will no longer be structurally sound and therefore, it will not support it's weight for the purpose it currently serves. Moving along. Nothing to see here. Okay, run. :hide: :P

My grammar is usually fairly atrocious here, but I have to field test the grammar Nazi symbols. :P

21. I was grinning the whole time I typed that post.
I knew, but I had to finally test out my engineering skills. I actually suck at math, so why I am in engineering I have no idea. Oh wait, I remember, it said something about computers in the title Computer Engineering Technology. I love computers. Now, I know a little more about them and way more math than I ever wanted to learn. :P

9. Sure, sure
point to it as a character flaw on his part, when it's clearly a case of him giving up on conversing with you.

10. All the time and it drives me nuts.
I don't want to be rude by not answering but that's the way it's going because I've grown tired of adjusting the volume on my hearing aids and asking "what did you say?"

12. No SO, but I do.
If I don't talk and mutter to myself, I can't get anything done. I am one of those people who is so preoccupied with concentrating on what I am doing that I constantly run into things and trip over silly little cracks in the sidewalks. If there is a column in the middle of the store I am in at the time and it is anywhere in my path, no matter how big it is, I will run into it, whether or not I have a buggy at the time. I'm such a klutz and such a mutterer. I don't even know why I do it.

18. Fresh out of spouse/partners but I've always talked to myself.
The older I get the less I hide it. As Gandalf said:
"No! For I was talking aloud to myself. A habit of the old: they choose the wisest person present to speak to; the long explanations needed by the young are wearying."

24. I talk to myself, to my horror...
I'll just burst forth with a comment, like my inner dialogue is spilling into reality. It's weird, and has increased with my recent stress levels.

26. Yes, and she even calls herself by my name when she does it.
When I still lived with her, anyway.

"Jobycom, blablabla Jobycom, blablabla..." I've heard her tell herself to take out the trash, get the kids ready for bed, fix the car. She even curses loudly at herself! "Jobycom, you *^(#^!"

Really interrupts my tv sometimes, you know? Weird.
