My dentist is really mean
this morning I went to a check-up regarding my jaw joint. No problem. But then he decided to re-fill my one tooth. Great. With local anesthesia. Now I am not allowed to eat for two hours (and I didn't had any breakfast this morning) and my lower right side of my mouth is numb.

What a great way to start the week :eyes:

Please feel sorry for me :)

6. The numbing is just about the worst part
I have had a few filled without any anasthesia. It hurts bad a few times but then you walk away without a puffed up face. One dentist I had pulled out some root tips without either authorization or anasthetic and then charged me for it.

9. I knew I needed that filling
so that wasn't the point. He just did it without any warning on a Monday morning. Now how unfair is that?

Sorry to hear you had bad experiences with dentists. I am really glad I found a good one I can trust. Fortunately I barely have problems with my teeths.

22. Run from a mean dentist. Yes, I know that this is a joke-ish thread,
but statistically, dentists are the kinds of healthcare providers most likely to commit not just malpractice, but actual felonies against their patients. People should avoid dentists who seem even slightly hinky like the plague. Or, better yet, run background checks on them before putting themselves at risk.

Oh, wait...I seem to recall that you don't like in the U.S? Okay, it might be less risky for you to access a provider of that ilk in your area.

25. Oh there are enough bad dentists in Germany as well
I ran into one some years ago. Good thing it was only for the yearly check-up. But he was so bad that while cleaning my teeth my gums started to bleed. Ok, my gums is sensitive but that had never happened before. And he wanted to do something with my teeth I didn't need was necessary. You can imagine it was the only time I was with that dentist.
The one I have now is really good. That filling needed to be done since some time already. And he took his time. And he let me choose between a cement filling (paid alltogether by the insurance) or a plastic material (have to pay €20). He asked me before he did it and not after.
