5. That was the black market one

I did not think it fit into the usual BG style, that it belonged in another series. That is what the podcast also said. BG does unexpected things as a general rule. That one was way too forumulatic.

6. Formulaic?

I was kind of shocked about the various revelations about Apollo's character. It turns out Mr. Squeaky Clean has been buying the services of a hooker long enough to develop familiarity with her daughter, and he's been flirting with someone else's girlfriend in the gym. Now that I know what a womanizing sleeze he is, the next time there's a "sexual tension" moment between him and Starbuck, the whole scene is going to feel very different even if all the same things happen.

Also, I liked the rather messy solution he came up with at the end. It's not the kind of thing you would expect from the squeaky clean Apollo, but now that we all know a few more things about him, the solution he came up with makes sense.

8. I liked it, but it was kind of different from their usual kind of show.

I still don't think of Apollo as a sleaze, though. He obviously had developed a relationship with the hooker, but he at the same time didn't feel that that relationship would or could go anywhere -- thus the flirtation in the gym. Anyway these folks are all under massive stress-- they're going to fuck around every chance they get. Viz, tonight.

1. He's still supporting one of the most demeaning possible professions for women. Visiting one is sleazy no matter what your excuse. Visiting one regularly is even worse.
   
   
2. Whatever excuses he had for flirting with Anastasia, she's still spoken for (Billy), which makes flirting sleazy.

Yeah, they're all under massive stress, but it's still sleazy. If one of my platonic female friends dated someone like that, I would simply yell "Skeeze!" every time she spoke his name until she gets the hint.

I seem to recall a scene -- was it last week? -- where she was kind of asking Apollo, "hey, are we on or what?" The subtext I got was that they were interested in each other but when he said NO, she went back to the safe thing (Billy).

15. Frak! I actually fell asleep during it,

which is pretty amazing considering that the pizza came out of the overn about fifteen minutes into it, and I ate the pizza... must have fallen asleep within seconds of finishing supper.

But, I was damned tired. I woke up when the next showing was just starting, but I was still too tired to stay up, so went to bed.
