1. ahhhh... the doobie brothers
Michael mcdonald/kenny loggins

He came from somewhere back in her long ago
The sentimental fool don’t see
Tryin’ hard to recreate
What had yet to be created once in her life

She musters a smile
For his nostalgic tale
Never coming near what he wanted to say
Only to realize
It never really was

She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
He’s watching her go

But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
And nothing at all keeps sending him...

Somewhere back in her long ago
Where he can still believe there’s a place in her life
Someday, somewhere, she will return

She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
He’s watching her go

But what a fool believes he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
There’s nothing at all
But what a fool believes he sees...

5. We have a nice little shop downtown
where I can pick them up dirt cheap. They know me by name and call whenever someone trades in something interesting. They also do used cd's but I prefer the albums. I like the pops and other noises and I love looking at the covers.

10. Yes you may.
If there is anything you're looking for, let me know. These guys love vinyl as much as I do and are willing to search for it.
We drool over each others collections all the time.

7. Am a HUGE Doobies fan!
Started going to their concerts back in the early '70s when they were doing concerts here in the San Joaquin Valley.

Saw them just a year ago, met them a few years back. Really wonderful people!

27. Whaaaa?
Sorry! If you dig the News man, that's OK by me! I was only complainin' because someone put that song "If this is it" in my head... TOO catchy!

28. hmmm...that is pretty bad
but I was just trying to be an evil tease

You know, the kind of person who, when he hears someone complain about a Huey Lewis earworm, promptly mentions three Huey Lewis songs. "So little kindness", "Hip to be square" and "sometimes 'bad' is bad"

It does seem, sometimes that 95% of the lounge egregiously disapproves of 90% of my favorite music but I probably feel the same way about theirs, so we are even.

"If this is it" seems so apropo to me. I should have thought of it when I was writing to the girl I was recently in a quasi-relationship with.
