There was a sitcom on in the 80-90's called full house. The super wholesome show. One of the actresses who plaid one of the daughters, and was the type of person you would figure (see what we know?) would have her head on straight, just confessed to being a meth addict. Crazy. :hug:

The housewife-addict is an under reported phenomenon in the US, and it's a bit more common than most realize. The wife stays home all day, gets bored, and starts experimenting with things as a way to add a little interest to her life. Some women shop, some women have affairs, some women try community service, and increasingly, some women play around with drugs. Since most below-40 housewives today probably at least experimented with drugs when they were younger, there's really no taboo against it anymore.

My aunt got hooked when she started hanging out with one of her old high school friends (also a housewife), and they decided to relive their youth and smoke some pot. Their dealer talked them into trying some meth one day, and they both got hooked. She was supposed to have been clean for the past six months, but we just found out that she's still been using now and then. The drug is addictive as hell and is a pain to quit once you've started.
