I'm BORED as heck so I am just going to talk for a while , ok :)
Edited on Mon Jan-30-06 10:12 PM by CarolinaPeridot
So I am I just going to shoot off some random thoughts from my mind :

- Lucky me I get to watch and curse the SOTU during my lunch break tomorrow night . Everytime Bush makes a speech during my work hours , all I hear around me is " WTF is that idiot talking about now ? " - and these comments come from the last people who I thought hated Bush .
- I saw a " Kerry/Edwards " bumper sticker on someone's car the other day . I smiled . The hope is still alive .
- I have CNN International on in the background because I miss it from when I lived in Germany .
- I have the night off from work because I requested it and I don't know what to do with myself .I woke up early this morning to clean the house . And I came up with a revelation : I might be addicted to PineSol .
- I shop at Walmart :hide:
- I think if you stuck everyone in the GD into one room , the National Guard would have to be called in . But the call would go unanswered because thanks to Shrub , they are all in Iraq .
- I wonder if the above random will get this thread locked .
- When I was a kid , I remember wanting to be a foreign news reporter for ABC or some other news agency . My mom says I would be a good reporter because I like to talk . The news is not same without the likes of Peter Jennings in my opinion .
- Anybody but Brazil for the World Cup 2006 Champions :hide:
- Anybody but Duke in college basketball (I went to NC State snicker) :hide:
- I will never ever understand the point of the sport,Curling
- I am currently working on 3 different careers at the same time : music , fashion , and college (Hummanities and continuing my knowledge of the German language) - oh yeah I also work 40+ hours a week - Sleep ? - I don't know what that is .
- I bet nobody here would like to meet me because , I don't know - I am not popular ;)
- Manchmal traume ich auf Deustch . Translated : Sometimes I dream in German .
- I love it when people think they know what I am all about when they first meet me , because I prove them wrong everytime .
- Duran Duran is my favorite band . If you laugh I shall hunt you down while playing " Hungry Like The Wolf " in my iPod .
- I pray that by the time I post this , the DU is back to normal levels .
- At least 2 people better respond or read this thread . I feel lonely when they don't .
- Yes the above statement was a pity plea ;)
- I must be part Vampire , because I don't sleep at night . I am such a nightowl . I don't go to bed until at least 4 am on a good night .
- Growing up I never looked at the color of people's skin . I am 25 years old and I still don't . Its just how I am .
- I did'nt like the person I was until 5 years ago . I did'nt think I would make it to the age of 21 when I was going through my personal hell at the age of 19 . My demons have left me and I have healed .I will be 26 in August , I am the Queen of the World :)
- My boyfriend knows what the Spear of Destiny is , now to me thats cool as hell ! When we got into this topic of discussion I was estatic .This was the sign of a perfect match :) Not many people know what the Spear of Destiny is . Do you ?

Now I wish everyone to enjoy their week and no matter what BS goes down in the world , just remember the fight goes on and one day , victory shall be ours :)

EDIT : I think gosh , that MrsGrumpy is swell :hi:

And I finally found something to do , I need to fix the clasp on my Chakra necklace to ward off the bad karma at work tomorrow :)

2. I love the smell of PineSol.
I shop at Walmart because they are the only game in my town.
I agree-anyone but Duke in college basketball. I love of hating Duke began back in the days of Laettner and has never let up.
I love Duran Duran and had posters of John Taylor on my bedroom wall growing up.
And I've love to meet you.

6. John Taylor is just gorg-eous .
Not to mention a kick ass bass player . But damn he is just gorgeous .

I kid you not , I used to be a Duke fan back in the Laettner days . I was around 8 years old then . I changed over once I got to middle school - these days I am more Wolfpack or Tarheels . Whoever is playing that day - but anybody but DOOK .

8. I used to wear a shirt that said
on the front "Duke Sucks". On the back it said "Laettner Swallows".
He was hot but I really hated him for some reason.

Thats why I liked Duke . And now that I think of it , when he left was the reason why I stopped liking DOOK .

4. Ich traume nicht mehr auf Deutsch :(
When I lived there, I did, and for a while after I get back, but no longer. That makes me sad. But I'm taking another German class in the fall, so hopefully that'll come back some. I know what you mean about school and work at the same time, and I have a kiddo. Makes for a crazy life, but I kinda like it that way :)

Glad to hear that you like who you are, now... it's a nice realization, when that happens!

9. The knowledge of the German language ...
is something that I don't ever want to lose . I speak it whenever I can - even to people who don't know what I am saying . I worked hard to learn and it would be in vain to just forget it . Yeah doing so much life crazy but I know that one day , all this hard work will pay off into something good :)

Good reporters listen more than they talk, and then they report accurately on what they heard. In any event, I think you'd be a good reporter. :pals:

18. One small point about ABC anchors specifically:
As Olbermann talked about yesterday. Tragic things tend to happen to all of them. Frank Reynolds, Max Robinson, Peter Jennings, and Bob Woodruff. It was years after Max Robinson died that I found out what happened (AIDS).

African-American anchor. He was a hero of mine. I liked both Frank Reynolds and Peter Jennings, too, so I know what you mean.

I don't get to see the network news like I did when I was younger .I missed out on Jennings' last years due to the fact that I lived abroad and once I came home , my job hours were in the way of being able to watch the news . But I really enjoyed Peter Jennings' ABC 2000 - New Years 2000 show .

34. Oh yeah I have digital cable and sometimes there are German movies .
A while ago there was one movie from the 1950s I believe and it had the old STRONG German - the kind that I liked . " Das Boot " which is a classic comes on from time to time . One night my little brother left his TV on when he went to sleep and I knew that I heard German coming from somewhere . I thought I was hearing things . It was " Das Boot " .

In December I was up at 5 am and there I was flipping through the channels and I found the movie " Rosenstrasse " about the group of German women who fought and protested for the release of their Jewish husbands who were taken prisoner in Berlin during World War II . I really enjoyed this movie because it was in all German (I did'nt bother to read the English subtitles) , it was filmed in Germany (all the memories of my time living there came back to me and calmed me down) - and the story of the women who stood there day after day waiting for their husbands to come back . It also may me think because of my past and current involvements in interracial relationships , how much I would fight for the one I loved as these strong women did .

Of course Lola Rennt has been played . I have never watched it though - if I catch it on again I will .

I just don't want to EVER forget any German whatsoever :) I never thought I would ever go to Germany , I thought maybe England or France first - but now I consider Germany mein zweite Heimat ;) :)

great movie.

Do you know that the German movie "Die letzten Tage der Sophie Scholl" got nominated for best foreign movie at the Oscars? YAY. I saw that movie. Very impressive. I hope it wins. It deserves an Oscar.

I know how you feel when you say Germany ist deine zweite Heimat. I feel the same about the U.S. Funny, isn't it?
