Is every letter of the alphabet covered in your music collection
I was going through my CD collection and realized that I have an artist for every letter of the alphabet but "Z" (Q - Queen, X - XTC).

Then while trying to fall asleep I was going through the stuff I have in my Vinyl collection and realized that I have all letters covered but "O" (I happen to have Frank Zappa and ZZtop for the "Z" in vinyl. In my CD Collection I have The Outfield, Ozzy Osbourne and Ohio Players for "O")

So, do you have everything covered alphabetically in your music collection?

This weekend my mission will be to buy 1 CD for my Z (Probably Frank Zappa) and find an album that starts with "O" (not sure what I'll get - I'm really not an Ozzy Osborne fan, maybe I can find Ohio Players on Vinyl)

8. Good music...
I've got that one along with a collection of other "mood music" on
a CD.

I listen to it often while driving.

Saw them live. They were stunning. Now, i've also got the farewell DVD, and it's not quite as good. It's a little more raw and a bit looser, but still pretty impressive.

Especially if you count the vinyl. I've got some Zappa, too. And X--although their harmonies always reminded me of "A Beautiful Day"--one of the more annoying bands out of San Francisco.

For Q--how about the "Quintette du Hot Club de France"?

For O, I've got the "Orquestras Tejanas" anthology on the incredibly wonderful Arhoolie label:

11. Yeah, I got'em all and then some...
there's also bands that begin with numbers -- 311, for example, or 900-Foot-Tall Jesus. You could file them under their respective letters, of course.

I tried alphabetical before, though, and it's difficult because the addition of new CDs fucks up the ordering. Nowadays, I group by band (all CDs by one band together), group those by chronology, and then group the entire collection by genre.

I've also gotten rid of all the jewel cases and moved all my CDs to those large books that fit four CDs to a page. They take up a couple shelves in my home.

Music is my life.
