TV shows you want to get on DVD
For me, it'd be "Buck Rogers."
(Before they went on that extended space mission the last season.)

Sure it was totally cheesy. But that's why I loved it! :-)

2. Dr. Katz
I actually had this exact conversation with my husband last night. We both agreed that Dr. Katz should be on DVD (but haven't really checked to see if it is).
Great show! :)

Star Trek and Farscape already are - I think.
Angel - I got.
Yup. I'd be all set.
Wait, add The Kingdom - the Danish version as well. The original Singing Detective with Gambon.

7. Starblazers and the Force Five anime
Showing my age, here. I know Starblazers is out, and I think Spaceketeers has a dvd, but I don't know about Grandizer, Dangard Ace and the rest.

Battle of the Planets would be cool, too.

9. You should get a (free) account at
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com. They inform me when a show has new episodes, whether it's a premiere of the show on DVD, or additional seasons coming up. They also have a pretty amazing and complete list of shows that people would like to see on DVD that haven't yet been done. For me, the latest shows have been Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and The Wild, Wild West shows. You just add a show to your list, and you will get email from them when things do happen!

No, I don't work for them or anything, but since I got my own DVD player, I have been a nut about wanting old TV shows on DVD, because back them (60s, 70s) there were almost no personal VCRs and so it was impossible to tape them. I also want to get rid of most of my old tapes anyhow, so seeing 1st generation DVDs makes my tapes redundant, and I can eventually get rid of them all, between bozed seasons on DVD, and the DVD recorder I'm in the process of buying, which can now put 8 hours per DVD, which will cut down a tremendous amount of clutter of tapes.

Since I've been taping for twenty five years, about a tape and a half or so a week, you can imagine how many tapes I have. It will be worth it to put it all on skinny DVDs which can be stored in a lot less space!

Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 12:06 PM by ikojo
season beginning with Tom Baker. I am not sure they have complete seasons of the first three doctors. This buying them by each story is EXPENSIVE!!!

Welcome Back Kotter, BEFORE John Travolta left and the Kotters had the twins: Best Buy has a one disc DVD for sale and I was told it was a test of its popularity.

Beverly Hills 90210 (YES a very guilty pleasure for moi...but I'd only want the episodes when they were in high school. After they graduated and all went to the same college it jumped the shark for me. What Jewish girl would pass up Yale to stay behind in California?! Oy vey!)

Square Pegs...hey Freaks and Geeks was finally released, a woman can hope can't she?

WKRP...will probably never happen thanks to the greed of the record companies.

12. Max Headroom - 20 minutes into the future
Great cast, well executed, and the stories are more timely now than they were when they first aired... Max was indicental as a "Deus ex machina" character, but the whole media control of the culture aspect was brilliant.

And Amanda Pays was :loveya:

(Not the "chat show" that was the foundation for Space Ghost Coast to Coast)
