Must be something wrong with the system I am using. It shows me as #57,743. I remember a few DUers who are no longer with us for reasons of pizza. Perhaps they were still being counted on another system when you registered.

A small site with the Lounge on the main floor as the big attraction for many. It has since been moved downstairs and to the Left.
Now the noisy chatter can be heard all over the neighborhood. DU has made the notice of the big time as an up and comer. A site to keep an eye on. Somebody is doing something correct.

began reading in late 01, posting in the first week of 02.

I remember when the "count" regarding members was added as a feature - remember when it rolled from 10,000 t0 11,000 (or perhaps it was 9K to 10K) and a 'computuer glitch' occured - that erased a block of posts and the rollover to the landmark of members numbers - and the repeat of the rollover to the landmark (for example - went back from 11,002 to 10,900... and new members joining didn't happen nearly as quickly as they do today.)
