3. .
Look at this illustration of the LN secure sign-on interface:

:wtf:

Hell, here's the rest of somebody's rant.

Analysis
This dialog box contains several security "features":

The hierglyphics on the left of the dialog box are supposed to distract someone who is peering over your shoulder trying to learn your password as you type.
The number of characters you type is hidden because a bunch of X's appear instead of one asterisk per character.
Is any of this nonsense really necessary? If I want to learn someone's password as he or she types it, I will look at the keyboard, not the screen!

It's an email application, not a utility that allows you to delete every file on your network servers.

There's, like, a whole page dedicated to why LN sucks ass:

4. HAHAHAHAHA!! Most worthless invention ever!!
No one ever looks at a screen to pick up someones password. What they REALLY need is a randomly changing keyboard!

13. I actually saw one once!
It wasn't on a computer, though, but on a security door.

The Canadian Army's MI school (I went up there as an adjunct instructor for three weeks) has a cipher lock on the door. The colonel told me, "don't ever forget the code to get in...let me show you why..." and pushed the "Start" button on the lock. The keys flashed three times then came up in a random fashion. "We have a written guarantee from the company that made this, that the combination will repeat itself every sixteen million times it's used."

29. My employer is very security conscious
So much so that every application, and sometimes modules with within applications, requires its own login & password. And every one is set up in a different format, so you can't use the same one for everything. And they change every 30, 60 or 90 days too. I have literally 25 different logins I need to remember so I can do my job.

As a solution, most people have a small note pad & write everything down.

5. AOL Media Player
I'm convinced the same DNA that's responsible for it also came up with 8-track tapes. Quite simply, it doesn't work.

Another reason I don't miss AOL. :puke:

All of it. But Powerpoint truely shines through. I'm just astonished how many big businesses have totally adopted it.

Got some Powerpoint-driven jokes lately in your e-mail? There. :puke:

Have you seen the Lotus Notes interface hall of shame page yet? You'll get a good laugh/cry out of it if you've ever been subjected to Notes before.

21. As I said below, I despise Notes, but in all fairness
many, if not most, of those interface glitches are gone in versions 5.0 and above . . . they gave way to a whole new set of interface glitches :P

I use a laptop for visiting nursing and the software is horrendous. I'd rather use pen and paper, it would be a hell of a lot faster.

22. Microstation
It's buggy software that engineers prefer over AutoCAD which is also getting crappy. I think these companies are releasing newer versions in their alpha versions just to get ahead of the competition. Instead of patches anymore it seems they just release a so-called new version that fixed all the bugs in the last version while introducing a whole new batch of problems.

you'd vote hands-down that it is the worst and most annoying software. Everyone who has to use it hates also. Quark also annoys me.
