I'm having my own personal Friday the 13th today.
You never realize how much you do in a day until none of it goes well. Starting with getting to the YMCA this morning at 5:30am to find the pool is closed due to negligence. Nothing of lasting consequence, just a thousand pinpricks of frustration.

I may just get back under the covers.

1. Choose another activity -- if you're in a place where you can walk,

do that. (Does the YMCA have a weight room with treadmills, etc.? Substitute that. Or is there another pool in your area?) I go to a local mall to walk in the early mornings. Had to add activities to my exercise schedule because one (swimming pool classes) wasn't fully working for me. There were times when the pool was closed or the exercise person was sick.

Late last year, I resolved to do more active things, along with swimming.

Don't get back under the covers. You'll feel better about yourself if you have a substitute activity when things at the pool aren't up to snuff!

In peace

2. Thank you, Radio Lady!
I will get back in the saddle! I feel like I am having a jinxed day today. I am enjoying a cup of tea now and trying not to drop and break anything. I think I will be back on track tomorrow!

3. D'oh! I hate days like that
I'd rather deal with one big thing than pull my hair out over the cumulative frustration of a dozen little things going slightly wrong :banghead:

Do you have any voodoo dolls? Those can help!

6. Thanks, Lara!
You zeroed right in on it! I've been thinking of you today because for all of these thousand things, a cigarette would have been just the very thing--the answer to life's little problems. And I'm not gonna do it. I bought two great big cookies instead and thought, I'm going to have to tell Lara about this day! Thank you! :pals:

13. I rather wanted one today, too.
It hit me when I was sitting in traffic today. A propane truck was lying sideways across the freeway and it backed up traffic for miles. I always used to smoke in my car when the kids weren't with, and today I felt like I was "supposed" to have one. It passed of course, but in the moment, I could just see myself inhaling one, and I certainly longed for it. Hang in there! You're doing GREAT!!!:bounce: :toast:  :yourock:

If I ever do cave, I hope I'm not next to a wrecked propane truck! :smoke: :nuke: O8)

it has no appreciation for romance and a rotten sense of timing!

22. There's no rush getting back to me.
I've been off DU more that I've been around recently. I can certainly understand being overwhelmed.

The stove should be burning wood by the end of the week.

Next ... the living room floor.
After I find my way back out of bed.
That reminds me ...
the comforter needs to go in the dryer ...
*walking away from the computer again ... see ya*
