Holy crap I'm having the worst vertigo attack ever.
Lack of sleep is a big trigger for me. I know I'm exhausted because I'm sitting down and the room is sinking around me. (It usually only hits when I'm standing up.)

It'll pass soon (and, yes, I've discussed this with a doc and it's hereditary, not a tumor -- I'm not seeking medical advice, nor is this unprecedented for me). But in the meantime it's anoying.

7. Sorry. :D
I get that earworm a lot, too, for obvious reasons.

2. not the worst ever
if you can sit up and type, no way it's the worst

it don't even get ranked as all that bad in my book if i can actually sit up during an attack

in times gone by i've had to lay down and put a trashcan below my head hanging off the bed or sofa so i can throw up because i can't even crawl to the toilet

no tumor here either, supposedly low blood pressure but hell

5. What is this, One Upmanship Theater?
Laying down is far worse for me than sitting up. I don't get dizzy or nauseous with attacks -- unless I'm laying down. I just have no balance whatsoever and the room sinks and I can't stand up or else I'll fall and it's kind of scary.

8. Thanks. It's gonna get worse with age, I've been told.
My dad's got it so bad these days that his is considered a seizure disorder. Staggering, cold sweats, all that. (His biggest trigger is flickering lights -- not just strobe but bad fluorescent -- so it's a pretty frequent worry for him.)

4. You're the second person this week who has mentioned this problem
my friend had it bad, too, and it turned out to be something with her inner ear. I vaguely remember her saying something about "crystals" forming in the ear that somehow caused the vertigo....sounds bizarre, but there you have it.

Good luck and I hope it does pass quickly! Do you get the neausea with it, too? THAT'S the worst....

6. No nausea unless I'm laying down, thankfully.
This is pure balance and it's disconcerting.

Thanks.

10. I feel for ya, buddy.
perhaps it's an opportunity to look at creating more BALANCE in your life, in whatever way that means to you. The Universe, and our bodies, speak to us in many ways.... Mind, Body, Spirit....it's all connected.

I send you all my best wishes for Balance and Clarity. O8)

Hang in there and don't forget, ginger is good for nausea.

9. Put your head down, between your knees, and breathe slowly.
Usually works for me...

I'm sorry, and good luck with this.

11. I get it sitting down now, too
It started about 6 months ago for me, out of nowhere. Here, hang on, we'll both spin and counter-balance each other :pals:
