Someone at my roommate's work stole his rent money

Not to fear, he will still be able to pay rent. But he had the money in his backpack, and went into the warehouse for about five minutes... he came back and it was gone. He's understandably upset. What gets me is his boss was fairly apathetic about it. If I was the manager and heard that, I wouldn't rest until the bastard was found.
