1. I'm guessing, but

I'd say because the leather helmets contained earphones.

Actually, I dunno if kamikaze planes were radio-equipped, since they were stripped to the struts for fuel and explosives. But you'd think they might want to report an impending strike. :shrug:

a leather flight cap and some googles make great helmets, but they had to wear it because their communication system was in them.

5. No. This is a joke:

Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"
