Roller Derby show starts tonight. 10 EST on A&E.

I've been going to the Roller Derby for the last year and I have had a blast. It's a mix of sport, WWF, drama, theater, trailer and more.

It's highly entertaining and I recommend checking out the new "reality" show about the LA roller league. I've heard it's a bit more drama than our Kansas City crew, and that is tough to do!

1. I've seen the Texas Rollergirls out and about at various events.

They always seem to be having a ton of fun. I think this show is about our local women. :)

2. They are having a blast. And they take some serious lumps.

Really my favorite part is going to the after party with them. They can cut loose!

5. You bet we do. They have their matches at the Winwood Skate

Center near Front St./Cheateau Tfwy. They are on break right now, but will start up again in late Spring. There are 4 teams in KC, but many of the girls play on 2 teams. However, they did a lot of recruiting during this break and have lots of new "girls" in training for the new season. They are serious with work-outs, strategy, etc.

Anyway, it's a total blast. Crowd is very eclectic ,the cheerleaders are a couple of cross dressers, and the period break shows are always entertaining. During these breaks I've seen The Marching Cobras, belly dancers, live bands, a Roller Derby wedding with a one armed girl in a shark costume on skates as the minister - by the way - she's the meanest player of them all - and finally, I saw a mock D&D type battle. Now, that was a sight.

6. Yeah, I've been seeing the promotions every 10 minutes ...

on the A&E channel for the last month.

Looks "interesting" (I'm a guy, of course).

I've picked out my favorite already: Sister Mary Jane, the teacher. She seems at least half-normal -- and cute too.

14. Yes, but it's making a strong resurgence in the last couple of years.

Leagues are popping up everywhere where there haven't been for years.

Especially judging by the scenery. I saw wildflowers, and that's March-ish. :D
