2. Are you in IT?
I know it doesn't help, but do you get paid for it? I am considered exempt so any OT I work is time donated to the company. I don't know why I'm exempt, if I need to leave early for any reason I must use vacation time so it's not like I can come and go as I see fit. If I am not there at 7AM I am considered late, although I don't have to clock in on the computer like the non exempt employees must.

Under the new dept of labor rules what constitutes an exempt employee? I am not a supervisor and my decision making parameters are few.

3. Why yes, I *am* in IT! Typical of our job isn't it?
Ungodly hours, high stress. I do however get overtime, thank goodness. I think normally we are exempt, but I work for a small company, and since I do consulting, I bill for my overtime, hence I get paid for my overtime. However, I do loose any holiday hours I work through, which sucks.

The new dept labor rules do suck though. I know people who are suffering due to those crappy laws.
