First successful drop-kick in NFL game since 1941. By Doug Flutie!
They brought Flutie in for a 2- point try. He takes the snap and drop-kicks it through the uprights for the extra point. First time since 1941. And this is Flutie's last game too.

5. Pats had 2nd & 3rd stringers after the 1st quarter.
But they almost came back at the end. If that 2-point conversion was good......

8. He did. I met him out here in San Diego.
He is SUCH a classy guy! He patiently signed footballs and such for everyone.

One of my favorite Charger games was the last one last season; they were trying to save Brees for the wild card game. Dougie came out and played at 42! We won, and the crowed just loved to see him playing.

When the Chargers went back to New England to play this year, Doug came and picked up Drew Brees, and David Binn, and Cleo Lemon, and took them to a baseball game.

And he shook hands after we won. Meanwhile, Baby Brady sulked and went into the locker room.

I miss him being out here in San Diego, but word was he wanted to return back east.

9. Flutie is a cutie
I'll never forget when Mike Ditka (who was used to yelling at his players) said he felt like he was yelling at Bambi when he yelled at Flutie!

11. I knew he could play the drums
but I didn't know he could pull off a drop-kick. Flutie has spent the last 20 years surpassing people's expectations.

12. Apparently Jim McMahon of the Bears was one of the only (other) QBs who
actually practiced this. Word was he always wanted to do it, but never got the call...
