I am prejudiced against white males.

Every time I see a car behaving in a way that clearly shows it's being driven by an asshole, I automatically assume the driver is a white male. I'm frequently surprised, of course, if I get close enough to see the driver. Anyone can be an asshole behind the wheel, regardless of gender or skin tone.

I grew up being driven around by a white male, and he was an asshole behind the wheel (and otherwise). Now, whether this is why I hold this prejudice or not, I don't know. But there it is.

Do you have any like prejudices?

On Memorial Day I made photos of names on the Wall for a DUer (although it was a different username; was there recently a name change amnesty?). I wonder if perhaps he's saying he's surprised to hear someone who would do that can also be a prejudiced asshole.

I hope Ptah will come back & clear it up for us.

And as I said, no offense is intended - we're all of us made up of good and bad. If we want to be friends, we take the good with the bad.

However, I've seen all kinds of bad drivers.

If you see a vehicle with conservative bumper stickers or a "W" sticker, check out the driver. I'm betting what you'll see is an older, white, male who is alone. And he's hunched over the wheel, unsmiling, while he listens to hate-radio tell him it's not his fault he doesn't make the money he thinks he deserves. It's not his fault his children are estranged. It's not his fault his wife left him. And it's not his fault he has few friends.
That said. I love white males. As long as they're liberal. You can have the rest.

But when assumption is based on facts or repeated experience, I don't think it's prejudice.

Given: The majority of members of Congress, the Senate and the Cabinet are white males. Ergo, when gummint fucks up, I assume white males are behind it.

Now, if I assumed it was white males from Texas or Florida, that'd be prejudice — though the odds would be in my favor. :7

18. In my area of the country, the women are just as likely to be "asshole"...

drivers as the men.

Someone also mentioned that white men are more likely to have "W" stickers. In my area, white women are just as likely.

Bottom line: In my area, the women are just as likely as men to be "assholes" all around. (At least, that's my experience.)

I was ganged up on by boys and by girls, but the boys were far more physically hurtful. I have no qualms about avoiding large groups of men. It's not prejudice, it's learning from experience.
