Question for computer whiz -
How hard is it for a recipient of an e-mail to find out if or who it may have been blind copied to?

Or in other words how can I find out if a mail I recieved was copied to someone else?

1. Depends...
if the mail program utilized a 'true' "blind CC", the there's no trace in the headers
if it's a standard CC: then the other address should show up in the headers

however, they chould also just cut/pasted it to someone else in a totally seperate email...

2. If it was blind cc'ed, you can't (at least not if the sender is using
any decent mail program). A blind CC is just that, it sends out the copies of the e-mail separately so the recipients do not know who else was a recipient (if the unknown recipient was a blind cc recipient that is).

I hope that made sense.

3. You can't for sure
Unless you're at the originating mail server and can look at the log files.

8. You Can Only Access Server Info If You're a SysAdmin
So in other words, no.

5. I'm not sure but it *may* be possible. This is something I am interested
in. What do you use for email? Outlook? Do you go to your ISP's website?

7. Yeah I use OE - thus a bit of the paranoia!
I notice if I send to myself and look in the sent file, I can right click and then click properties I can see who I bcc'd to, but if I look in the In file and try that it doesn't show any adresses except the "to" (me) - but there are so many numbers and secret code stuff I wasn't sure if sombody else could tell.

I rarely look at email from my servers website because it has got to be one of the slowest on the web!
