What do you do to control your anger?
My nerves are a little frayed at the present moment from reading about ANWR and orther un-Christian acts of the party opposite.

I could use DUers' advice right about now.

3. beat the shit out of my husband...
just kidding:evilgrin: I usually try one of three things:
1. write in my journal about my feelings etc.
2. Clean something (my house has been freaking spotless since 2000)
3. Sex usually works;)

6. I have horrible anxiety and stress pretty much all the time lately...
And I have never bothered to try any of those. I think my life would be better all around if I tried to obtain stress relief through those methods. :-)

Thank you for sharing!

5. I don't think it's healthy to 'control' anger
Instead, let it out in non-destructive ways.

I used to kneel beside my bed and beat the living moose shit out of the mattress. Works like a charm.

9. I follow the 24-hour rule.
I have a general rule that if something angers, upsets, or bothers me, I wait at least 24 hours before responding. Sometimes longer. Whoever said "sleep on it" had good advice.

21. ANT(s). Antagonistic Negative Thoughts... are bad for us emotionally.
They bring negativity into our lives and spend our energies on negative things.

LIFE IS TOO SHORT! There really is so much good about life, that it is far too short to anger ourselves and poison ourselves with bad, dirty, evil, republican influences.

When you find yourself getting wound up about the fuckheads in the GOP, and the anger starts to eat you up, you must replace those Antagonistic Negative Thoughts with NICE things. Think about the joy in California Peggy's sunsets, how beautiful the mountains are, the glory of a little kitten, the silliness of a fat little puppy. That sweet spot on the golf ball that sent it right to the eagle; in other words, find YOUR bliss and use it to create a happier lifestyle and being for yourself.

You have to make an absolute and conscious effort to replace negative thoughts in your mind with positive thoughts... if you don't, you will slowly poison and rot.

Life is too short to let the fuckheads of the world destroy EVERYTHING. If you let them poison you, they win!

LOVE, love, love, is all you need.
