So, who else has seen "Love Actually"
and what did you think? I saw it Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I laughed at the part about the PM distancing himself from the American President. Got verklempt over some of the rest about the little boy, "Karen" (Emma Thompson's character), the young woman with the mentally ill brother, etc. I think the most romantic was the man who learned Portuguese and went to find the woman he fell in love with.

I felt like I had been on a short vacation, getting to see London and Provence.

1. I'm thinking about it.
Wondering if I should go see it tonight. I've been trying to go see a movie every Sunday night after not seeing any for years. I'm a little tempted to stay home and finish a book though.

7. Very Christmas-y.
Definitely a Holiday film. Starts five weeks before Christmas, IIRC.

2. I did...and I loved it
It was wonderful. I thought Liam Neeson was just beautiful. So sad and lovely trying to help his "son" figure out love. :-)

3. Hugh Grant as the PM, dancing to a motown tune? I just can't go there.
I bet I'd like it though if I saw it, though.

6. That part was silly.
The whole PM thing was so unbelievable for me with Hugh Grant anyway. But i thought that it was weird how much value Brit entertainment placed on their PM dissing therelationship with the US. I would have preferred to see Emma Thompson as PM.

5. (Spoiler) He was the sweet Englishman
who fell in love with a Portuguese woman. They had a language barrier, but he learned a little of her language and went looking for her. Very romantic storyline.

8. I loved it, too.
It's the kind of movie critics love to savage because it's sweet. But it's also quite funny and I enjoyed every minute of it.

11. Isn't Hugh Grant done after this one?
I remember reading somewhere that Grant was not doing movies, or romantic comedies, or something, after this. He's 42, wants to get married and chill out, I think. I remember thinking that was sweet.

I really want to see this movie, and I'm going to have to go by meself, because no one I know has any interest in it! :(
