Thank you Yoko!
Edited on Thu Dec-08-05 03:26 PM by eeyore
Okay, I'm not the biggest Yoko fan. Her voice makes me wish I never had ears.

However, on this day of remembering John, I must take a moment to give some thanks to Yoko.

So, Yoko, thank you for staying true to John and not trying to capitalize on his name.

Thank you for not selling his legacy out to the highest bidding corporation.

Thank you for not selling Imagine to Chrysler or HP for advertising.

And thank you for having class in the face of all of the insanity. Every talk show would love to have you on to dish dirt. Every publisher would love to have rights to your tell-all biography of John.

You have stayed true to John, and have kept your the love and life you shared as personal and sacred as I believe he felt it to be.

So, Yoko, your voice may rival the worst sounds I've ever heard, but on this day I give thanks to you.

I know you are still in pain, and you miss John every moment of every day. And in that spirit many of us are with you today.

To Yoko! :toast:

3. Now, now...
She just had some issues to work out. Unfortunately she recorded the process for the world to hear.

And it would have just been The Plastic Band without her, and what would that have been?

5. She certainly didn't ruin the album "Plastic Ono Band"
It's one of Lennon's best; often considered his best solo album or even the best ex-Beatle album.

4. Yikes!
I never knew about the musical. :scared:

But you have to admit she's been remarkably restrained with the material she's got control of.

7. Not at all....
I think they are kinda cute, and I don't even like babies that much.

And besides, it's just his drawings - they never had much meanining to anyone before he died.

9. I love Yoko.

"Walking On Thin Ice" ROCKED!!

Plus the B-52's credit Yoko as someone they looked up to.

For that alone, Yoko gets major props from me.

11. A different perspective on Yoko
I was standing in line at Tokyo Disneyland chatting with an older lady who spoke very good English. The conversation somehow drifted to Yoko and the lady said indignantly, "She was from a very good family! She didn't have to marry that English musician!"

15. What always bugs me
is the fact that everybody seems to love John Lennon and hate Yoko Ono, like a mother-in-law would always take the daughter-in-law for being responsilble for anything bad taht happens to her son.

I think they did love each other and talked to each other about anything; they must have been equal, or you are implying that Lennon was just ruled by Yoko, which I don't believe.

And to be honest, I don't consider either of them as what they are now mostly presented.

17. I agree
I have always told the people who pisses on Yoko but says they like John that if they liked him so much they would respect who he loved and chose to have as his partner.

If you piss on Yoko, piss on John too, because he did chose her. :hi:
