Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication!

(and don't forget the hilarious two articles from the onion that involved george Clinton, including "Clinton to drop Da Bomb on Iraq", in which people from Vanilla City are protesting 'No Booty-shaking for Oil' or something like that, and one other article, I can't remember the title).

13. you got it!

Best funk song I can think of,but it is Robert Palmer, not Plant.
The band backing him on that album was none other than Little Feat.
It don't get any funkier than that!

16. I agree on S GD...
But one of my baby-mouthed friends in college was not the cursing type, so he'd sing, shucks, doggone, get off your buns and boogie...

Which reminds me of the time, after completing my finals, went to a Funkadelic concert and fell asleep...

My other favorite from Funkadelic (and my fave workout tunes...)

One Nation Under A Groove - getting down just for the funk of it, one nation we're on the move, nothing can stop us now...feet don't fail me now..do you promise to funk, the whole funk, nothing but the funk..

(thanx for the list, btw)

7. Brick House - The Commodores
Edited on Sat Nov-22-03 12:25 AM by cosmicdot
Chorus:
She's a brick----house
Mighty might just lettin' it all hang out
She's a brick----house
The lady's stacked and that's a fact,
ain't holding nothing back.

She's a brick----house
She's the one, the only one,
who's built like a amazon
We're together everybody knows,
and here's how the story goes.

1. She knows she got everything
a woman needs to get a man, yeah.
How can she lose with what she use
36-24-36, what a winning hand!

Chorus

2. The clothes she wears, the sexy ways,
make an old man wish for younger days
She knows she's built and knows how to please
Sure enough to knock a man to his knees

Chorus

Bridge

Shake it down, shake it down now (repeat)

Get Down on It - Kool & the Gang

Get Down On It
Kool and the Gang

What you gonna do? You want to get down?
Tell me, what you gonna do? Do you want to get down?
What you gonna do? You want to get down?
What you gonna do? You want to get down? - Tell me.

Get down on it, get down on it,
Get down on it, get down on it, come on and
Get down on it, get down on it,
Get down on it, get down on it.

How you gonna do it if you really don't want to dance,
By standing on the wall?
Get your back up off the wall, tell me.
How you gonna do it if you really don't want to dance,
By standing on the wall. Get your back up off the wall.

'Cause I heard all the people sayin':
Get down on it, come on and
Get down on it - if you really want it
Get down on it - you gotta feel it
Get down on it - get down on it, get down on it
Come on and get down on it, baby, baby
Get down on it - get down on it - get down on it.

I say people - what? What you gonna do?
You've gotta get on the groove
If you want your body to move, tell me, baby.

How you gonna do it if you really don't want to dance,
By standing on the wall? Get your back up off the wall. - Tell me.
How you gonna do it if you really won't take a chance,
By standing on the wall? Get your back up off the wall.
'Cause I heard all the people sayin':

Get down on it - get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - when we're dancin' - get down on it
Get down on it - get down on it

Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - come on and
Get down on it - baby, baby
Get down on it - get down on it - get down on it.

What you gonna do? - Do you want to get down?
What you gonna do? - Get your back up off the wall.
Dance, come on get our back up off the wall.
Dance, come on!

Get down on it - come on and
Get down on it - if you really want it.
Get down on it - you gotta feel it
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - come on and
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - and while you're dancin'
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - you move me baby, when you move
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - get your back up off the wall
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - get down on it
Get down on it - get your back up the wall

20. If you ever come across albums by a Portland band called Slack...
...acquire them. Very funky. Very speedy. Kinda punky.
There are two I know of: Deep Like Space and Bigger Than Breakfast

Well it's bigger than breakfast
And so much much bigger than brunch
It's called
Goin' Out To Lunch

ooh yea.
