So I saw "Land of the Dead" last night. (maybe spoilers)

Now, I'm a huge fan of Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead, and I have to say that this movie blew. Just horribly cheesy. Yeah, I do like the social commentary - the walking dead (aka morans) allow the Republicans take control and completely segregate us. But everything else about it was just piss poor. Poor story. Poor acting. Just wretched. I did love the zombie version of Tom Paine though (the guy below). He made for endless amounts of comedy throughout the night. :-)

1. It is the weakest of the Dead films

but I still enjoyed watching it.
The whole thing had an "action flick" feel to it, and I generally dislike that genre, unless there is a good bit of camp. At first the ending of this movie bothered me, but then taken in context with the way most action flicks end, I changed my mind. I also enjoyed that the wealthy duped the remaining living into accepting the U.S. currency as still valid, and seperated themselves from the general population despite the fact that in this movie socioty has all but completely broken down. I also enjoyed Dennis Hoppers performance, and John Liguizamos, as well.
