6. Good morning! Glad to hear you had a good time. I was at
my SOs inlaws yesterday... Apart from a head-splitting cough (still got the flu) I feel pretty good to-day because I made clear to them that from now on I'm going to assert myself in that family - and that there are certain things which I'm just not willing to do. For instance they are always crying that I don't come more often. This time I told them: "SO has to work there Saturdays which means that I'm sitting in the kitchen entertaining your father all day long which is not my idea of a nice weekend." Makes me feel really good.

10. With silence :) SO is a little huffed to-day but that's ok, too.
I've been silent too long.

13. I am happy for you that you say what you want
it sounds similar to me. Being silent too long till I am sick of everything, then I say something.

8. a weekend for me is a couple days of heavy work
yesterday, my co-workers, who are supposedly subordinates left an hour and an hour and a half early. One saying that everything was done in the basement. Of course, nothing had been done in the basement since I went upstairs. So I had to run my tail off for the last hour and still ended up going home 20 minutes late.
So today, I give him a deadline, saying I want him back upstairs by nine. He comes back up by 8:30, but says the gym needs to be cleaned, something which will take at least an hour, meaning I only have his help for an hour instead of two. Which would not be so bad, certainly not his fault if the gym is a mess. Except when I am taking trash downstairs I see him putting away folding chairs, something which already should have been done.
The upshot is that I end up going home an hour and a half late. Next I will have the big fight to convince my boss that I have to be compensated for the extra time. In his view, anybody should be able to run a mile in two minutes, so why didn't I get everything done in two hours? This time, however, I have a list of the things I did, which is pretty substantial. Tomorrow is expected to be even worse, as the whole upstairs needs to be turned around, including the main room with its 34 tables and 204 chairs.
And shoot this turned into a long rant. I guess I could have simply said my "weekend sucked" but I did talk to my sister for an hour and found out my brother is moving down here.

15. he will still be two hours away
although I used to drive there to fill out my monthly unemployment claim (I had to visit an office once a month) As much as he works I may not see him that much. We probably will have to schedule monthly meetings or something. I have had this house for four years now, and he has never seen it.

Actually after tomorrow (okay it is technically today) I have my two days off, which is MY weekend.

I was gonna ask about the wild boar. Is that a common dish. I did a bunch of walking in the Siegwald and before I left I asked the hotel keeper what all the hunting stands were for. He said "wild boar" and I was very glad that I did not meet one while I was walking in the wald. :scared:

16. we had a baby wild boar
it is common for venison. As is deer (male and female). But to eat vension is something special.

Enjoy your two days off. Sounds like you need it.

I don't see my brother that often either. Maybe 3 to 5 times a year. He lives in Berlin, which is 5-6 hours drive from Frankfurt (if the traffic gods are with me). I will see him over Christmas again.
