3. Yeah, it's pretty cold here too...
8 degrees F with a wind chill of 0 degrees F...but it's 2:30 in the morning, so I don't have to go anywhere. :)

Be sure to dress warm, and think hot chocolate.

but 30 or lower feels about right. I think of my hot tea I am gonna make me when I am back.

Before I go outside I put on my long coat, my scarf and my hat ... and my gloves ... should hold me warm.

Although the upper floor of my place gets overheated at times, the most I end up doing is kicking off the covers temporarily.

I always had troubles in the U.S. when the A/C was on because the air gets too dry.

21. I have problems with dry air in the winter because of the heat
So I have a humidifier over my bed. I don't have any problems with the A/C though--it doesn't seem to dry out the air the way the heat does.

22. well, the heat is drying out my nose also
but with the A/C it was the same. I have problems with my nose anyway. I already had an operation that I can breath better through my nose. My tonsils were infected the whole time because I was breathing through my mouth.

27. you should come to America
It is written in "Memoirs of a Sauk Swiss"

"Merciless cold pressed down upon us. I have never seen the like of it since. Animals died in large number. Trees split open. Our cabin was heated at one end by a fireplace and at the other end by a cookstove. Despite the fact that both were kept going full blast, the drinking water, standing on the table between them, was usually frozen over. Had it not been for the heavy featherbeds we had brought along, and in which we now spent most of our time, we must surely have perished.

Our spirits naturally drooped and father in particular became very melancholy. Over and over again he said 'To think that we came to such an accursed land to give you children opportunity. Better we had stayed in old Switzerland - you would not be freezing there.'"

This morning it was 31 and its only going to warm up to about 51. I'm not complaining because I love cold weather. Maybe once a year we get snow.
