OK. I really hesitated before buying. It comes with remasterd original Horses and is kind of pricey at 22-24 bucks.
But, but, but... Tom Verlain is a member of the band for the evening, freeing guitarist Shanahan for piano duties most of the night as the recreate Horses strt to finish in London last summer.
Flea sits in on Gloria and plays mournful trumpet(!) on a beautiful reading of Elegie. And even though there's a one or two songs on the album that certainly not in my uppermost faves of the PS cannon, Gloria, Birdland, and Land (OMG; at nearly 18 minutes and full of new words/inspired phrophetess channeling) are amazing. The band is SO rocking and Patti just sounds so friggin in the zone throughout.
All in IMO, of couurse, so I ain't gonna tell you the live disc is worth the price if you already have the studio album. (But for what ever it's worth, the remastering of the original actually discernable does make a difference here and I'm usually the first to call bullshit on the need to double dip.) Me, I'm giving my old one away...
