So I quit smoking for a whole week ...
Yeah, we all did. For an entire week me and the girls held off smokey-treats, and it stuck. Almost killed each other over Thanksgiving, but didn't.

So yesterday the girls take off for two weeks, I'm a swingin' bachelor, wheee! So of course I turn on sports programs and begin eating pizza. Then I say, hell, I'm having that two inches of great scotch I've got stashed away. Yay! Then I say, hell, I'm gonna have me a smoke! Yay! Just about dropped me where I stood.

This morning I wake up and feel like the whole world crawled into my nose and throat. I'm hacking like I ate a dusty kitten wrapped in grass clippings and dunked in the vacuum bag. Bleah! And I know it wasn't the scotch!

Moral: all it takes is a week, then smoking kicks yer (my) butt again. Adios, smokey treats. Hello, new and more fragile Robb. :hi:

1. Keep going....
Lick that demon tobacco. It was the toughest thing I ever did but now I am happy for doing so. Hang in there Robb, be strong.

2. You can do it! I'm almost 11-years tobacco free
I have smoked NO tobacco for for 10 years and nine months. I smoked two packs a day. You can do it!!!

You learned a lesson, though: stay away from alcohol as much as possible for a few months. It makes it much easier.

And, a question: how the heck do you know what a kitten tastes like??? *gasp*

3. Did you feel it in your feet?
That is where I feel it when I have made attempts to quit before. It's like a WHAM! Oh yeah I remember why I used to let these things run my life now AHhhh YEAH!!!

I'm at 119 days or something like that. Yeah going back to smoking is a real "WHAT THE F**K WAS I DOING?" moments isn't it?

4. I've been a social smoker for about the last 5 years but....
Last Friday night I went to a Poker Night at the local school gym, had a couple of smokes and on Saturday felt awful.

No more for me. Ever. That's it. I'm through. Just can't do it anymore.

I hear ya.

8. I've been wanting one lately-- thanks for the non-incentive!
I'm sure I'd feel like crap if I broke down and smoked one now, too. I'm five weeks free. Keep going, it is a wonderful gift to yourself. On a side note, I went running last night and pushed it alot harder than I usually do and I now have shit coming out of my chest like you wouldn't believe. Gross, but a good sign, I suppose. It feels SO good to just run like hell, and not have my lungs holding me back so much!
