Who do you give a pass because they're liberal?

This is my sister thread to the one in GD about who we used to love...until we found out they'd gone over to the dark side.
Who do you give latitude...they're not really that great a writer, actor, singer, jock...whatever. But since they're so damn liberal and proud of it, they get more credit than maybe they deserve.
For me, I think Ben Affleck's acting talents are limited. Though he has proven very eloquent and charming when he's on talk shows. So, he gets points with me. I'm not as critical of him.
Also, Maureen Dowd (lately, anyway...she was really bitchy toward Hillary during the Cinton years) and Arianna Huffington (again, a more recent development -- since she's seen the light) get wiggle room from me. They're not always on the mark. There are more insightful people out there. But. When they're funny and flirty on TV, they get points from me from just being there.
Who gets "liberal based" latitude from you?

1. no one

i completely seperate my politics from my entertainment. for example, two of my favorite comedic writers are dave barry and michael j. nelson. Both are conservative, but i couldn't care less.

same goes with liberal performers. one that i KNOW will get me flamed is the fact that i cannot stand randi rhodes. she may be liberal, she may be a benefit to the cause, but i just can't listen to her. I may go to a performance because i heard the performer was liberal, but if it sucks then i just say it sucks, though it be liberal.

i just like to remove myself from politics when i entertain myself. god knows i think about it during every other waking moment of my life

From what I hear in person he's an asshole, but his politics is AOK

I just don't operate like that. If someone sucks, they suck regardless of political affiliation in my eyes.

5. You all are better people than me

I have a big, fat personality flaw in that I let my political beliefs dominate almost every relationship I have.
I'll try to do better knowing that other DUers have conquered their biases so well.

But if you are conservative, then even the best skills in the world won't make me like you.

The likes of Britney Spears and Pat Boone are forever banned from my music collection. (Britney sucks anyway.)
