Cat trainning question - how do you get a kitty to jump into your arms?
Edited on Thu Nov-24-05 09:54 PM by DanCa
I seen it on tv and I was wondering if Tsonga, whose busy terrorizing my lotr minatures right now, if i can teach her to jump into my arms. Or does the fact that she's a tortie make this trick impossible.

3. Cat... training...?
"Cat" and "training" are usually not put together in the same sentence. But I imagine it would involve a lot of food and bribes.

4. My cat just does it; I never taught it to him.
This guy, Milo, will fling himself at my torso whenever he wants attention, which is often. He obviously trusts me to catch him and carry him around. It's funny, but startling.

16. Yep.. I think some are just going to do it..Marvin launches himself
and makes a perfect landing on my shoulder..(most of the time)..

The others are not interested in jumping

Marvin started jumping on me (velcro-style..claws out) when he was about 4 weeks old.. Thank goodness he turned out runty:)

15. Guaranteed. Proven. Fact.
I wonder why this isn't mentioned more often. All cat servants know they pretty much always do this, yet rarely, if ever, do cat expert advice givers mention it.

14. I have a better question
How do you get him to stop after he's started doing it? I have to be so alert when I walk into the Seattle house because Corbin Dallas launches himself as soon as I walk in and if I don't get my arms out in time, he uses his claws to make sure he doesn't fall. Ouch.
