Thanksgiving Gratitude List - Are you grateful today?
So what are you thankful and/or grateful for today on this Thanksgiving Day 2005?

I am grateful:

that my parents are still alive and well
for my 2 beautiful children
for my sobriety
that I have a roof over my head
for my friends on DU
for my friends IRL
for my health

hmmmm. that's about it.

How about you?

RL

12. well is some magic faery was granting all of MY wishes
I would at least ask for a President Gore, 68 Democrats in the Senate, and 294 Democrats in the House - just for starters. Keep reaching for the stars. :bounce:

Oh wait, as long as I am thinking big, let's put 294 Greens in the House, so we don't have one party rule.

5. I am grateful for
my wonderful wife;

2 great daughters (both of whom called today - Yea!)

Great neighbors who are fixing the transmission ( he is a transmission mechanic and volunteered to fix it when it died) and who's mother in law fixed us Thanksgiving Dinner. Dawn and Kevin(the tranny guy) brought it over to us (they live across the pasture)

Cornbread Dressing

and for all my wonderful friends on DU who keep me up when I am depressed (which is most of the time these days), don't get too mad when I get whiney, and who make me smile ... a lot.

6. I am grateful of many things too ...
I am grateful

of the wife I have
of the cat we have
of the place we're living
of the family and friends we have (both at DU and IRL)
of all the possibilities we have
of the open sky (no, we do have a roof, I mean this more symbolic) ;)

And I'm sure I missed some other things I am grateful of.

Happy Thanksgiving!

9. I am grateful...
For Mom and Dad, my three sisters, my brother, all my brothers-in-law, my sister-in-law, each niece and nephew, my cousins, and my aunts and uncles.

For Mom and Dad-in-law and the wonderful extended in-law family that comes with them.

For my husband: my best friend and the most thoughtful, unselfish, giving man I have ever known.

For my three healthy, lovely children on whom the sun rises and sets.

For my friends, moreso now than ever, friends far in wide, friends in the flesh, and friends online, for the connections that mean more to me than I can say.

For good health.

For home, hearth, warmth and love.

For food on the table.

For a community with which to share blessings.

For pumpkin pie, turkey, eggnog, lefse, and the opportunity and ability to share a day of food, fun, and games with the ones I love.

11. I have spoken about this already
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=4342289&mesg_id=4342289

and I am no happier today

my parents are far away
I have no kids, and apparently never will, not even step-kids
I have always been sober. I should get drunk and forget how much my life sucks
my roof leaks
all my friends on DU responded to my last thread here
I do not seem to have friends IRL either
my ulcers are acting up and my right knee still does not work properly

Some people think the glass is half full, others think it is half empty. I think it used to be full until the cat spilled it on my laptop.

I guess I can be happy that SOME people are doing okay.

16. Few will know the burden that we elite must bear.
And that is they way that I like it. Forgot to add, I'm thankful for my chauffeur and valet. Both of whom I couldn't see fit to give the day off.
