I hope it's a good one too! As we get closer and closer to Thanksgiving, it is getting busier and busier. That's OK to me though because it maskes the day go by at warp speed!

I hope you have a fantastic day down under too!

:hi:

You know, I made a thread about four hours ago saying I was going to be gone for the next week, but I'm coming back for the next couple of hours because I cannot sleep. I'm too excited because I'm going home for turkey day! Plus, I have horrible insomnia. :(

Don't you just love it when the very end of your shift is upon you?! I do too! I hope it hasn't been TOO crazy/boring for you tonight. Hopefully today will fly by for me. I have the middle shift: 12 to 8. I HATE the middle shifts. You don't really have your morning or evening. :hi:

16. Yeah, I remember those
Split shifts stink too. You end up with a few free hours in the middle of the day but nothing else.

As to the night it was neither boring nor crazy, just average. The best part is this is my weekday job: regular shifts, easier work, higher pay, etc.

20. Right to bed
I go straight to bed most mornings, sleep for 7-8 hours, then get up and go about my day. I have a bunch of errands to run tonight (pharmacy, library, liquor store, pick up an Unturkey at the natural food store). I might pack up some more books if I have some time, then it's off to work again.

25. Even after the regular length shifts I go straight to bed
I'm alone in the house during the day since my roomie works 1st shift, so it's the optimal time to sleep. Then around the time I get up, or shortly after, she gets home. By sleeping during the day it ensures I'm not disturbed and she doesn't have to tiptoe around.

21. Life's good here - but nothing very exciting.
Just sitting quasi-working listening to Haydn's St. Cecilia Mass (which is a real biggy at about an hour long), drinking tea.

It's gone a little bit foggy today, which is not so good. The last couple of days have been very chilly, but also sunny and bright.

We get foggy mornings sometimes here too. Luckily, it doesn't stay around very long. It gets burned off pretty early although it stays pretty humid most of the time.

I've been listening to a lot of 80's and 90's the past few days and have been enjoying it! One of my favorite songs that is out now is: "Photograph" by Nickelback. LOVE THAT SONG! :woohoo::bounce:

39. It does mean that it's a tad warmer - but I much prefer cold and dry
But then I like summer or winter (prefer summer), autumn and spring are just insipid and in the middle. Give me real cold over silly damp cool any day.

whereas autumn in horridness plus death.

The 70% I ate a little while ago certainly did make everything better - if I had been able to eat yours, I'm sure that that would have made the whole week splendidly wonderful.

Just rolling out of bed here. Cold, grey, rainy for a second day here
and utterly melancholy. That actually suits me from time to time if I don't wallow in it.

I hope you're well. If you're having your tea, you are on a different plane than I at this point. You have accepted, if not embraced, the day and I am still non-committal.

52. The day was accepted at about half past eight
that's when I staggered off to the shower - or at least it's inevitably was accepted then.

Was in the office at about half past nine, then there was coffee followed by the first tea - that's what finally made the day tolerable. Now we're on the home-straight towards lunch (it's after midday, so less than an hour to go) - plus Berlioz' Requiem which is sublime is cheering me.

Here's a  to help you embrace the day.

when they have the right place. Sunny, but not too much, warm, but not too hot. They don't need too much water. They only get some water once the week. Hey, I still have the orchids I got when I turned 18 (it is the one I took to work because the climate is perfect for them here). And you know I am 30 now. See, it is possible.

Are you awake yet?

I'm fine, thanks. My kitty got through his dental OK yesterday, so I can have a more relaxing day. I worried a lot about him.

I'm going to start preparing food for Thanksgiving and maybe clean the house a bit today ... that is, if I can find some energy.

43. Hello, Miss Airmens!
:hi::hug:
I'm glad he did OK yesterday! I was wondering about you and how he did. Thankfully...I don't have to try to make Thanksgiving dinner for just me. Somehow making it for just one person is a yucky thought.

I need to straighten this place up too...but you know, I'd rather be here with all my friends right now. It will just have to wait.

48. I was a basket case.
Did you see his pic that I put in yesterday's thread about two minutes after you left?

:loveya:

I wouldn't want to make Thanksgiving dinner for just me, either. As it is, we are having friends over ... but they broke up, so they're coming separately. I think it's the first year since the kids moved away that they aren't coming to visit for Thanksgiving. :(

Yeah, being with friends here beats housework!

51. I didn't see his picture!
I'll have to pull it up and look!

I'm glad my boss lady invited me to her house. It was very nice of her and keeps me from having a honey bun from the Circle K for Thanksgiving dinner!

59. Well, you're required to look at it.
And tell me how cute he is. :silly:

Oooh, a honey bun doesn't sound so bad! (I'm hungry!) Did you ever go out for Thanksgiving dinner? We went to a B&B once where they served everyone at a big table, just like a big family. They had turkey and all the trimmings. So we had no muss, no fuss ... but also no leftoverrs. It was a great experience, though.

61. That's probably what I would do if I had no place to go.
Go to a restaurant. I don't think it would feel the same though.

66. Probably not if you go and sit alone.
But sitting with strangers was actually fun. I wonder how many people go out to eat alone and all sit at separate tables.

One year, I invited all the guys from work who would have spent the day alone. We had a great time! The kids were still home and lots of fun. When we had gotten to the point where we couldn't eat another bite, we watched Independence Day. Very nice time!

68. I'm sure it will be.
I hope you'll tell us about it on Friday!

Oh, look -- you put Satchmo's pic here! Thanks. He's as sweet as he is cute ... likes me to kiss his head and then he rolls over onto his back and kneads the air with his paws while I rub his tummy. I'm so relieved that he's OK. (I'm hopeless.)

94. Finally, I'm taking a short break.
There's a lot to do and I'm not making as much headway as I'd hoped. At least the phone calls are done and I had some breakfast!

How was your breakfast? Jeez, it's almost lunch time already ... well, in an hour.

Gotta get my butt in gear -- only seems to go in slow motion these days.

I hope you have a good day too! I've been having some coffee too, but I can't STAND flavored coffee. It has to be strong, black and regular. Folgers usually.

Since I do not LIKE eggnog, or flavored coffee in the first place, the whole idea sounds GROSS to me!
