I mean if you don't care about acceleration, it's no big deal, right?

2. Not sure but I am about to buy a used beater, volvo with l60,000 mi. and
I expect something to be wrong with the turbo... just because I always hear about turbos not working. When I had a turbo on my 82 Nissan 280zx, it one day, stopped whistling and stopped working, due to whatever and they wanted about two grand to fix it.

3. You can, but you probably won't want to
You'll be getting some "interesting" noises, really bad gas mileage, poor performance, and be lacking in power.

I would say that you should walk on past this one, and find something that isn't missing a turbo.

5. My experiences with beater Volvos have not been positive.
I drove several of them that I bought from a family dealership down the road that specializes in Volvos. The first couple were ok, but they both had issues. The last one that I bought had some serious problems, and it wasn't all that high in miles. Shit was breaking on that car everyday. I've given up on them. They're not worth the money it takes to keep them going, IMO.
