Do You Have A Favorite Michael Jackson Song?
Edited on Thu Nov-20-03 12:02 PM by arwalden
I've always liked "Man In The Mirror" (... if you want to make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make that change...) which is a bit ironic for Michael Jackson, I suppose... because CLEARLY the mirrors at Neverland don't work the same way as mirrors throughout the rest of the world. What IS he thinking?

"Rock With You" always has a special place in my heart. It's a fun song with many special memories too.

2. I went to see Robert Randolph and the Family Band last night
Amazing amalgamation of rock, gospel, blues and soul played on a wild pedal steel guitar with base and hammond b3 keyboard backup. He opened with a letter-perfect version of 'Beat It' while wearing a black fedora. It was priceless.

3. The first cassette tape I ever bought was "Off The Wall".
I've already paid for it, so I should still enjoy it, eh?

Oh, I have it on CD now. :-)

6. I liked the one he did w/ Janet
I think it was called "Scream" but I'm not sure.

I always knew he was sick.... all those surgeries definitely indicate a form of self-loathing

And with all his money and success he still needed to dominate a child in order to fell "big" or "whole".

Sick.

18. Yup, it was Scream
I'm 99% sure. Very cool video too. It's kinda amazing how he can pop out once in a while with something pretty new and innovative, and then go into hiding for years and years.

13. How Do You Cope When Muzak Plays An MJ Tune?
Do you leave the store? Plug your ears and hum la-la-la-la to yourself? Or just grumble and bear-it? ;-)

Sometimes "NOT" listening to an artist isn't as easy as chaning the radio channels or not going to the theater or not watching HBO.

22. I say out loud that he's a freak. If someone's in hearing distance, they
get to hear me say it out loud.

I got no problem saying this kind of stuff aloud, in check out lines, in public, where others can hear me.

More often than not, someone chimes in to agree!

11. I like Off the Wall
And on the basis of that, I bought Thriller when it first came out. Listened to it once, and then put it away. Not because it was a bad albumn, but because the radio kept playing it over and over and over.

I never recovered from that. Anybody want a slightly used tape of Thriller? Its only been played once.

14. MJ Classics like Never Can Say Goodbye
to Dancing Machine to I Can't Help It from Off the Wall to Lady in My Life on Thriller all the way to Break of Dawn and Heaven Can Wait. His new single reminds me of the old Mike. I'm a HUGE fan but am thoroughly disgusted and pissed that he let himself get back in this situation. Very Disappointed!

.....sure do hate all this for him..he's been exploited all his life and truly doesn't know any other way to be...it's such a shame that his talent has been ruined by his neurosis and now his life is too....such a waste and damn sad shame. :(

16. Eat It.
Oh wait, that's Wierd Al!

How come you're always such a fussy young man
Don't want no Captain Crunch, don't want no Raisin Bran
Well, don't you know that other kids are starving in Japan
So eat it, just eat it

Don't want to argue, I don't want to debate
Don't want to hear about what kind of food you hate
You won't get no dessert 'till you clean off your plate
So eat it

Don't you tell me you're full
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Get yourself an egg and beat it
Have some more chicken, have some more pie
It doesn't matter if it's boiled or fried
Just eat it, eat it, just eat it, eat it
Just eat it, eat it, just eat it, eat it, ooh

Your table manners are some cryin' shame
You're playin' with your food, this ain't some kind of game
Now, if you starve to death, you'll just have yourself to blame
So eat it, just eat it

You better listen, better do what you're told
You haven't even touched your tuna casserole
You better chow down or it's gonna get cold
So eat it

I don't care if you're full
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Open up your mouth and feed it
Have some more yogurt, have some more spam
It doesn't matter it it's fresh or canned
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Don't you make me repeate it
Have a banana, have a whole bunch
It doesn't matter what you had for lunch
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it

Eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
If it's gettin' cold, reheat it
Have a big dinner, have a light snack
If you don't like it, you can't send it back
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Get yourself an egg and beat it (oh lord)
Have some more chicken, have some more pie
It doesn't matter if it's boiled or fried
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it
Don't you make me repeat it (oh no)
Have a banana, have a whole bunch
It doesn't matter what you had for lunch
Just eat it, eat it, eat it, eat it

19. The TALENT in today's music is so questionable
Women have to kiss one another on national television, dress half naked and videos are almost soft porn but NO ONE can touch the talent of this man. It's truly a shame that everything else around him was such a farce. I don't think he'll ever be able to recover from this - no matter what's the result of the trial. A talent truly wasted.

I don't know what it is about the song that gives it its incredible atmosphere, but I just love it. Jackson at his peak, IMO.
