3. Probably because this happens
.
.
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the President his daily briefing. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, three Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands.

Finally, the President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

4. So you can't see seminude Werner Herzog tripping Robo in
Julien Donkey Boy? So sorry.

Maybe you should just switch over to straight Larry Clark films. Try Bully on for size. I think you should, because I know you won't want to entirely give up Leo "Man, I just love to pop those virgins" Fitzpatrick, the prime seducer, from Kids.

By my lights, Fitzpatrick's also a fuckin' genius, along with Korine and Clark, but if I slip up around the house and start imitating him saying, "I just wanna make you feel real good," no sex for eight or nine months.

5. it's not Harmony Korine's work that's banned (he only wrote Kids)
it's the director, Larry Clark.

6. Clark's still photography may be even more disturbing than his films.
His documentary photography of his own youth in Tulsa, for example, is extremely unsettling. Aside from the rampant teenage fucking and drug use in these early stills, you get stuff like one frame of a buddy on a bed playing with a big pistol and the next frame of the same guy clutching the leg he just blew a hole in with the gun. You get the pregnant girl in her underwear being shot up with speed. All the kids from the photos attending a funeral of one of the other kids you have come to know from the photos.

The guy who came out of that is ruthless. He doesn't let up in his later photography or in his films.

7. It was in the comedy section of my video store and my
then roommate brought it hope. Needless to say, we did not find it very funny. It was so very creepy.

8. Harmony Korine
well, he wrote it. Larry Clark directed it. I think that's his name. Directed "Bully" as well.

9. I thought "Kids" was very good, but I found "Ken Park" somewhat hard
to stomach in parts. I haven't got a problem with real sex in films (although it generally doesn't tend to work or add very much), but when you have 18-year olds playing 15/16 year olds having sex, masturbating, etc it's all a bit icky and parts (the end in particular) just made me feel - in your words - like a creep. However, as it hasn't been released in the US (and it's about 3 years old now) I doubt you'll stumble onto it. Still, I'll carry on watching Clark & Korine films. I wouldn't go so far as to called them genius', but they're definately interesting and keen to push boundaries.
