a question about tipping

Please help me out here.
I just went to HairMasters and got a hair cut and a frost.
I have very short natural blond hair. (that has some grey starting to creep in)
The stylist, Sarah, who is very young, very hip, did a great job.
I love the way it turned out. It looks like I spent the summer on the beach in the sun and very natural.
The bill came to $63 dollars total, which I think is really reasonable.
I tipped her 10 dollars.
Was that enough?
I'm wondering now if I embarrassed myself.
If I did, I will make amends next month when I go back in for a
pre-holiday "tune-up".
Was my tip appropriate?

For a cheaper haircut, I would tip a higher percentage (they still do the work, even if the haircut is cheap), but for anything over $25 or so, at least 20%.

especially since she did such a nice job and she was so personable and friendly.
So, a $20 buck tip would be appropriate and would let her know that the job she did was above and beyond?
