Rock and Roll is coming back baby!!
U2 is in the midst of a $300 million+ tour to support a multi-platinum, critically praised #1 album, the Stones are still selling out stadiums after 43 years, Green Day has made the best rock album of the new milennium so far, My Chemical Romance has broken through big, System of a Down, Springsteen, NIN, Audioslave, and Disturbed have all had #1 albums this year. Motley Crue is back together, as is Judas Priest

It's about damn time rock made a comeback. Rap, pop, and country have been assaulting an unsuspecting American public for far too long now.

With new releases from SOAD and Korn this year and new Tool, Pearl Jam, Slayer, and Rob Zombie next year...it look like rock is finally back in the limelight

1. I think hip hop outsells rock.
But yeah.

Your failure to mention QOTSA makes me sad. :(

6. Is he still with the band
Korn doesn't come off too fundie from their music. I would think they'd get someone more to their liking!

15. Whatever... I love the Kanye West song that's all over the radio.
"That rock and roll is so awful... I tried to listen to it and it's all just about drugs and sex. For every Dylan you get 20 Whitesnakes and Poisons."

17. You really don't listen to much rap music do you?
Edited on Tue Nov-15-05 06:28 PM by William Bloode
Theres tons of rap and hip hop that does not embrace money, hoes, and guns attitude.

Warn you now yer gonna get savaged for being so narrow and general in your statement. You would have been much better off stating that in your experience the hip hop you have been exposed to is" insert your overly generalized statement here".

Try to be a bit more enlightened next go around.

13. Rock 'n roll is old, tired, and worn out
There have been no major new ideas since the '60s.

There have been no minor new ideas since the '80s.

round and round and round it goes, recycling old ideas, most of which are based on older better ideas like blues and jazz, and done better the first time.
