What did your caveman ancestors contribute to civilization?
For example, I believe I'm descended from homo scampiens, the bright spark that first set garlic to skillet forever changing the way we look at little white bulbs.

No thanks are necessary. :P

2. My people have long been theologians
We're told that early Kincaids were the first frisbeeterians, believing that when you die, your soul goes up on the roof and you can't get it down.

The ancient flying discs were discovered on the rock ledge over the caves at Lascaux and are housed at the Louvre. Our UN cultural defamation appeal requiring the discs' (and thereby our ancestors' souls) re-placement on the rock ledge is pending.

7. My ancestor, Ayla, contributed much to civilization
She discovered a whole new way of lighing fires by striking flint an iron pyrite together (rather than rubbing a stick on a platform), invented the needle (though it was made of bone in those times), first used stitches to hold a human wound closed, and invented the first bra.

20. Clan of the Cave Bear
by Jean Auel. I haven't kept up with the series, tho. And it's been so long I need to re-figure which was the last one I read.

Really good books tho. A nice guilty pleasure.

24. Darryl Hanna played Ayla in the movie version.
It is just as powerful as the book version was IMHO.
I highly recommend renting the DVD : the Clan Of The Cave Bear.

The next book in the series was Mammoth Hunters. IMO it was ok but not as stellar as C.O.C.B. was. When the third book came out I got so frustrated with it that I threw it against the wall after reading only half. It was decidedly not my cup of tea.

22. Oh yes, I forgot about that one
Ayla just did so much I forgot all of the things she did. It's hard having an ancestor with so much to her credit .

21. And won in the very first Olympics: category sling casting
The Neanderthals did lodge a protest here but steroid abuse was never confirmed. Sadly they never did figure out how she was cheating but her unfair advantage was duly noted and sling casting has been removed from further competition by the Olympic Committee.

14. listening to post is like this
on the internet of life
to find freedom from the place we left
and the storm at sea
that this ship has still will not find it's port
Although the boat has landed
the ship is still at sea

We want to be Americans
so we can be free

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion,

or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech,

or of the press;

or the right of the people peaceably to assemble,

and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

What more can we do waiting in the boat by the sea?
