Two of my bestest friends are Southern Baptists, although obviously we disagree on MANY things, they're still my friends and I love them.

But mid-September one of them said: "Hey you should stop by our church, everyone's a great bunch of people."

I said: "'Um, okay, I'll think about it."

I did, and I resisted...and then went and had four shots of straight Tequila and I was fine after that.

So there you have it, I just felt like sharing this.

I've called some people out on turning The DU Lounge into The Internet Porn Lounge. I'm all for porn, but in real life.

You get a crush on someone or whatever on an Internet Discussion Board, then email them, swap phone numbers, arrange to get a hotel room and go and fuck.

I'm just tired of sifting through this stuff every day when I come here. It's an Internet Discussion Board, this stuff has gone right over-the-top into something else now:

Yeah well, meet up in real life and show each other your cock and your tits and stop talking about it here, because the majority of people don't want to have to sift through this stuff every day. I have noticed a bit of innuendo often enough but I have not seen any of the examples you sited. I agree that those things absolutely do not belong here and our mods should be held accountable IF THIS BE the case. I am proud to let folks know that I am a member of the Democratic Underground. On occaision I contribute, mostly I soak up information. The lounge is a fun part of the DU for me, mainly entertaining and a little merry making. Perhaps I have just been lucky that I have not run into those things which you have run into.

Two of them, hijacked a good thread I had going. Then these other two keep going on about their Internet Porno stuff in other threads...and I've had to put all of them on "Ignore"

As I said I like innuendo and I do double-entendres myself, I like that stuff...but this stuff they're doing is just...well it's weird. This is the Internet, you want to talk shit like that with someone meet them in person and do it.

24. Last year the lounge got warned.

The top thread in the lounge for months was "OK fun's over" followed by a long screed by Skinner about how he'd tried warnings, tried patience, and nothing worked. The lounge was a little quiet after that. He also said not to test his patience. Either these people got here later, or are pushing the limits(as Dem's are known to do) and having a good time doing it. Sometimes someone is going to say something off color and it's funny, and ok. Sex threads are banned here. Hit alert.

Each thread now looks, well I've got about 10 posts from posters and the rest of the thread is now reading "Ignored" "Ignored" The thread can be about anything, but chances are they'll be in there with their stuff.

I might come back in a few weeks and see if this stuff has calmed down or hopefully stopped.
