1. Trapper from the MOVIE
Watch out for you goodies, Hawkeye. That man is a sex maniac, I don't think Hotlips satisfied him. Don't let him kiss you, Hawkeye.

2. Col. Blake was the BEST!
Sorry to see him killed off and replaced but I loved Col. Potter (Harry Morgan) too

8. Col. Blake
One of the best characters in sitcom TV history. The movie was on our local PBS station last weekend. What a great flick.

12. movie was great
as for the tv series I really liked the earlier years the best. Seasons 1-6, afterwards it became too much the Alan Alda Show.

4. Col. Flagg
But, of the regulars, I suppose I like Sherman Potter the best. He had some great lines.

15. Yep
Colonel Flagg and Sidney Friedman. There was at least one, maybe two, shows they were in together. Perfect writing. That one where Flagg reveals that Sidnay didn't sign his loyalty oath.

7. Alan Alda - I can't watch the series to this day
due to Alan Alda. By the end of the run he was way too full of himself.

11. Potter - There was a gentleness and strength about him.
Sick to death of suffering and war, but toughing it out and patching up the pieces anyway.

13. That's My Choice, Too!
For the exact reason you stated. Actively disliked the Blake character. Thought the series was better for his departure.

17. Tossup between Klinger and Radar
ended up opting for Radar.

The unit could not run without the company clerk.

Both showed indomitable spirit under trying circumstances - Klinger with his eternal quest for his section 8 and Radar as a child thrown in to an insane situation - both perhaps lacking the complete toolset to deal with the situation, but each with their own extra talent; their ability to scrounge, Klinger's fashion sense (which needs to be taken with a grain of salt), and Radar's "radar".

I see a lot of myself in Radar.
