They hate fur. But a fir wouldn't bother them. :)

I've been planting trees at our place for 20 years now.... love the silkwoods (or mimosa or albizia, as they're often called). Got two big English walnuts -- they grow fast. And a dawn redwood -- which is a deciduous redwood. And lots lots more.
