1. Does anyone have an answer to why minors are engaging
in this sort of thing with adults? Adolescents these days aren't truly naive, though they are emotionally challenged in many ways. I think the problem is that kids largely are unsupervised and that we adults rely on the "government" (what a nebulous, unaccountable entity _that_ is) to look out for kids, because we as adults are not only working hard for a living but we're also terribly self-involved. I wouldn't trust _anyone_ other than _me_ to ensure the safety of my kids.

Yeah, I've got on my asbestos suit.

2. It is a sickening mystery to me Heidi.
Some of those males drove two hours to
meet the assumed-to-be-twelve year olds.

And defended their actions.

Too sick for words.
:wtf: :argh: :nuke: :scared:

4. What do you suppose would have happened
if a person drove two hours to meet a kid, and was met at the door by a Mom or Dad?

Look, some adults are sick, sick, sick. In any society, human or animal, predators exist. We as adults know that predators exist exist and live in our communities until such time as they're convicted of a crime. It's _our_ job as adults to protect kids. If we sufficiently protected our kids, we prolly wouldn't have to worry so much about predators. I'm just sayin', I don't have any kids, but I have two goddaughters who live across the street from me. Between their mother, father, stepfather, grandmother, Call Me Wesley (their godfather) and me (their godmother), there's scarcely a move those girls make that we don't know about, whether they're aware of this or not. (We're not overtly heavy-handed.) Also, they _don't_ have access to the internet, except through Call Me Wesley or me.

3. Or why all these predators THINK there are kids who would?
The story is only telling us about the adults, really.
