All I ever think about is food... I think I'm a food junkie.
Mind you, I'm not gaining any of my weight back or anything, but even after just finishing one meal, I'm thinking about my next. And I want everything. I never have a craving or a hankering for just one thing. Tonight, I want a cheeseburger w/ all the fixings, and a plate of homemade spaghetti and meatballs, and some buffalo wings, and a big bag of cheese popcorn, and a piece of peach pie,....

Some people think of alcohol this way, or drugs, or even sex.

Food...

always food.....

I don't suppose there's any cure for this.

2. I like that menu
I'd replace the peach pie with one of those jumbo Hersey milk chocolate bars. I don't think of it as being a food junkie, I just REALLY LOVE to eat.

3. Welcome to the club, sister!
Ever since I stopped drinking socially eight years ago, all I can think about is food! I've gained 40 pounds that I definitely did NOT need since then. UGH!!!

4. Sounds like a serotonin deficiency.

Serotonin is the neurotransmitter responsible for the contentment and "I'm full, no dessert for me, please" feeling when eating, and for not thinking about food again until the stomach begins to rumble for the next meal. A deficiency will cause the type of thoughts you describe, as well as some cravings. Serotonin depletion can also be a cause of depression.

Stress, some foods, and other factors can cause serotonin depletion. It is a fairly common problem given our current lifestyle and environment.

Certain foods provide more serotonin than others. There are also SSRI (Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors) medications available.

5. I used to be on SSRI's
for depression, but have come off of it in recent years. Maybe I should talk to the doctor about going back on them.

6. SSRTs

But when you were on them, did you notice whether or not they addressed the issues you have now?
