1. Was the person taking the order still crying over losing to the Jayhawks
yesterday?

Hehe.

2. A COUPLE of $$? Yeah, right.
My daughter has sent me Omaha steaks for my last couple of birthdays.
They are fantastic, but very expensive.
I guess she can afford it and she says I'm worth it.

Hmmm...we must have done SOMETHING right in her raising.
;-)

10. As long as you didn't give them your phone number.
Their stuff is incredible. I send it every year to my brothers for the holidays. Excellent quality. It is pricey, but sometimes on the website they have great specials.

Just don't EVER give them your phone number.

15. Well, if you would
actually ANSWER the phone, you would discover it was the Omaha Steak man.

Seriously, last year, before I stopped them, they were calling every day, sometimes 2-3x.

But do not, under any circumstances, give them your phone #.

:P people are starving you know.

We're having Chuck tonight mister. ;)

Seriously though...enjoy it! That sounds awesome. I'd be there for two reasons. 1. Meeting a DUer that I'd love to meet someday and 2. to take pictures of a man actually cooking to bring back and show MrG.

19. I was very much unimpressed with their steaks when I bought them last year
I thought I should finally give them a go, and they weren't any better than what I could get at a decent butcher in NYC or even back home in WI, and for much less.

Very much not worth the cost - and I took advantage of some super bitchin' saving sale they had, so I was getting them for, I believe, half the regular price. AND got a knife set, that I still haven't opened, lo these 18 months later.

Omaha Steaks can suck my dick.

20. We have the best little meat store right around the corner....
It's called Shores Meat Shoppe and they have the best cuts ever. I've got to agree with you about butchers. :hi: Plus he's cheaper than Kroger on most things these days.

They're pretty good.

Chateaubirand, huh? I wonder if my parents will be mad that I skip Thanksgiving at their house. :dilemma:

22. Damn expensive, for what you get.
Edited on Sun Nov-06-05 05:34 PM by Kali
Good meat but I guarantee you can get the same locally for less. Probably frozen delivered for less as well, from other smaller companies.

Edited to add: Bone-in roasts have more flavor in my opinion - nothing beats prime rib. At any rate thanks for buying beef!

25. I just bought a WHOLE Tenderloin for
4.99 a pound.

Cut it into steaks and just grilled the last of them last night.

I wish I would have looked up this site...I LOVE Bearnaise sauce on filet.

26.  Brings back memories for me.. The first time I had chateaubriand

was at Les Violins in Miami Beach...in 1974.. The BEST meal I have ever had.. Chateaubriand is usually served "for Two"...

Enjoy:)
