I bet if I start a picture thread, lots of people will read it and
the ones who sent me such good wishes in my thread a couple of weeks ago will read my thanks to them. There were even "good luck" posts from a few people with whom I've had some big honkin' arguments in the past..tells you what kind of place DU is, that people forget their differences with others when things really count.

I've been good for two weeks, so I figure it's OK for me to cheat the one time in order to say thank you.

In case anyone's wondering, the new nerve mappings are over with, and inconclusive as usual. Nothing like having a guy stick needles into you and shoot electric shocks through them for three hours, and then find out that nothing much has changed. Though I guess in this case no news is indeed pretty good news...the enforced rest has resulted some of the feeling coming back to my hand and wrist, the fingers are starting to uncurl, and I haven't had any starfish-on-crack hand spasms for a couple of days.

So it should only be another month or two if I don't do anything stupid (who, me?), and I'll be able to strew random gibberish all over the Lounge and pick pointless fights in GD in the old style.

Thanks again, guys. Hey, I hear there's been some discord in the Lounge lately. We don't really need to do that, do we? We could better use the energy ridiculing the Freeps, and that's a helluva lot more fun as well.

Oh, the picture...I almost forgot. Here's me getting ready to shoot a wedding last week, captured by Mrs R:

3. It's good to read your words.
 And I am so happy you are feeling better. Yes, there has been some hard feelings and it hasn't been fun. Wish some of the other kids would just play nice in the playground.

Please do continue to take good care of yourself so that you can return to us more often. I do so understand why MrsR took that photo, it is wonderful and so are you.

Keep taking care of yourself.

BTW, if you were successful in shooting that wedding, I hope you had a permit and it was wedding season.

8. Dude!
I was thinking about you earlier today and wondering how you were doing... are you guys still interested in coming up sometime? Or shall we wait for the snow to go outside and play? :bounce:

I'm glad that there is no news in a negative direction, at the very least. I wish there were an easy fix for you, my friend

13. We'll try to do it before Christmas...
In for a penny, in for a pound, so screw it, I'm going to post tonight until I can't anymore. We're going to Newport tomorrow and Sunday, so I won't be typing at all for two days...that'll make up for being bad tonight, yes?

Sounds like the new place is working out well for you guys. We'll get up there to see it soon, I promise.

Have fun in Newport! My dad lives just north of Newport, on the island... it's a nifty little town to wander around and window-shop. :) Have a great time!

14. Finally someone adds a picture to my picture thread!
(Not that I'm complaining because the others are posting good wishes instead of pictures...)

Funny, I (and I suspect many others) think of Venice as being a place that's warm all the time. Not sure why that is, but it gave me a bit of a surprise to see you guys wearing coats and she a scarf...how early in the year was it?

16. It was very early March - bright, but icy cold.
Snow was on the ground.

Endless beautiful bright sunshine.

But up there on the Loggia, and up the Campanile, in the ice-cold sea wind - cold indeed.

March is the best time to visit Venice.

And well appreciated. It'll keep me awake for a while, that's for sure.

You KNEW I'd get around to replying to you, yes? Friendship trumps nerve damage any day, and you've been a good pal.

I hope the recent insurrections in the Lounge haven't made your Mod Life too difficult.

Feels good to be yacking with you again. Even if for just the one night, or less. Hang in there, kiddo.

22. Does your new gig mean that you won't have time for other
freelance stuff? Congratulations; doing book design is high-class work, indeed. Helluva lot better than scraping around putting together restaurant menus and similar junk like many have to do to pay the bills when starting out on their own.

Send me an email or a phone call. There's still that last project I told you about...

Thanks individually and collectively to alarcojon, knowbody0, merh (you're a peach!), CalPeggy (the peachiest), Left Is Write (Them Eyes), GOPisEvil, hippywife, Joanie, havocmom (I absolutely HAVE to visit your town some day), and any others I didn't manage to answer individually.

I would if I could, but I can't. I gotta go.

Hey, do I get some kind of award for having the shortest "post your picture" thread ever, or what?

(for some weird reason, the camera breaks each time someone tries to take one)

Here is a photo of my yorkie terrier, Winston.

He is doing much better and the collar is no longer required.
