2. How quickly we forget the DU Lounge crack-up of mid-2005.

I remember with great fondness the post from Skinner entitled: "The DU Lounge--Too Often, It's Not A Friendly Place." I was impressed with how honest he was, how open about what he saw as the serious social problems existing in this forum. And the fall-out from that, especially from those who did not share his views, was impressive. Haven't seen anything like it since, even today.

13. Ah, yes...that was the day...
that the Princess got tombstoned. Who immediately, upon her tombstoning, went over to that ridiculous, pointless site that does nothing but think how "hilarious" it is to mock DU. The Princess then basically outed herself as a troll. Let's put that day in a little bit of context, ok?

Yes, some people in the Lounge can upset it for others. But there is the ignore feature, as well as the hide thread feature. Those are two features available to all DU'ers.

3. Yes.
And it certainly is an appropriate topic for humor.

6. No. I think that was the California Recall day.
Almost more tense than the residential election.

I still vividly remember Skinner's "let-it-all-out" thread in response to it. One of only two threads that I can recall that had no mod oversight.
